The National Wildlife Federation in partnership with The Natural History Museum and presenting sponsor the Annenberg Foundation will end its second day of hiking on October 19 at Topanga Elementary Charter School. Topanga Elementary is one of the first schools in the Los Angles area to earn the Certified Schoolyard Habitat designation by The National Wildlife Federation. Beth Pratt-Bergstrom, California’s Director of The National Wildlife Federation, will retrace P-22’s trek over 5 days starting October 18th at Liberty Canyon and ending on the 22nd at Griffith Park. The walk will physically and virtually trace the likely path that P-22 took in leaving his birth place in the Santa Monica Mountains to reach his current home in Griffith Park. Beth’s trek is designed to raise awareness of the #SaveLACougars effort for the construction of what will be the largest wildlife crossing in the world. The crossing’s planned location is at Liberty Canyon in Agoura Hills. In addtion to meeting Beth at the end of her hike, you will also get a chance to meet Ranger Rick and "see" the bridge's location through Virtual Reality glasses! Through your continued support we will be able to bring more community wide events to the canyon! For more information contact: p22.topanga@gmail.com |
