Traffic Duty for the Week: Ms. Tapper’s Class
Three cheers for our returning teachers! This morning our students and parents helped me to welcome our wonderful teachers back where they belong – Topanga Elementary Charter School. I know that the six days of the strike were difficult for all our families, and I’m glad a deal was made that has enabled our school, as well as the rest of Los Angeles Unified, to get back to the business of educating our children. Welcome home, teachers!
The storms have passed and the weather is great – why not join your child’s class on an outdoor science experience? If you have the time, we would love to see you volunteering on one of our science hikes next week.
CREW for Mary Poppins!!!
Registration is now open for 3-5th graders who would like to be on our stage crew for the spring musical, “Mary Poppins.”
Crew will be responsible for creating props and working the stage during rehearsals and performances. Commitment is 1-2 days a week starting in February through mid-March. Our first meeting/work day will be next Friday, February 1st from 3-5pm in the auditorium to stage clean up and prop organization. We are also looking for a responsible student AD that can attend many rehearsals and take notes for Kristy.
If your child is interested please go to our website and fill out the registration form. You will write “crew” where it asks for desired role. The fee for crew is $30 to cover costs of t-shirts, snacks and performance meals.
Performance dates are March 16/17.
Email email@example.com with any questions.
Have a great weekend,
Mr. Steve Gediman, Principal
