Traffic Duty for the Week: Ms. Santora’s Class
It’s been a very scientific April – and it’s only the 5th! On Wednesday our fifth grade students, teachers and parents banded together with our mighty science committee to welcome the 5th graders from Hart Street Elementary. It was a day of science, friendship and learning – and I want to especially thank our parent volunteers from the science committee and 5th grade. It was a day to remember!
On Tuesday, April 9th at 1:45 pm we will be having our monthly committee meetings. All three committees will be looking at a list of facilities related grants offered by School Board District 4 (our district). The application for these grants ends on May 3rd, so we will be looking at forming teams interested in working on projects that match our needs at this school.
In addition, the agenda for the committees will include:
Curriculum (Room 7): Eureka Math training, Second Step training, Project TEAL and the upcoming “Book Tasting” event.
Safety/School Beautification (Main Office): Improving and repairing the lower garden area (including the outdoor stage), reviewing the Safe School Plan for shelter-in-Place to prepare for a presentation by the Topanga Emergency Management Team, the upcoming SARC inspection.
Technology (Room 3): Exploring options for Planet Bravo or another technology education service, more tablet devices for primary grades, electronic communication to help facilitate parent meetings (including leadership).
The Pirates are coming!
VAPA, the committee for Visual and Performing Arts is proud to bring you Story Pirates. On April 12 with two back to back assemblies starting at 8:00 a.m., TECS will be invaded by pirates. Then during Spring Break, our students will be writing their own stories to be submitted and turned into a new show to be performed in May!
The Story Pirates Greatest Hits Show celebrates creative writing by students from coast to coast in a big, hilarious sketch comedy musical performed by professional actors and musicians. The performance is based entirely on stories written by elementary school students, and part of the show is made up on the spot by the kids in the audience! Hope to see you there.
