If you still don’t know what “elephant toothpaste” has to do with science, you obviously didn’t see the big science demonstration this morning. I know our Topanga kids are already excited about science, but after this morning I’m sure everyone will spend at least part of the spring break week thinking about what they will be doing for the big science fair next month . . . . It’ll be our third one, and while you don’t have to participate (unless your teacher makes it an assignment), you’ll have fun and learn if you do (and maybe even win a prize).
To learn more about the upcoming science fair, here is the link to the website. It’s open to all visitors without signing up. https://tinyurl.com/topsci
Speaking of science – we had a blast on Wednesday hosting Hart Street Elementary in our annual 5th Grade Science Day. Thanks to all the parent volunteers, especially Brody and Debra Shier Grether. It was a great day of learning for both schools.
It was great to share our newly refurbished outdoor amphitheater with the students and teachers from Hart Street Elementary. I finally got a complete (I hope!) list of all the hard working parents who made this happen:
Funding provided by Deborah Stern and the Santa Maria Trails and Park Association
Thanks to all – the amphitheater will be enjoyed by our students for many years to come.
Retirement and Miss V
We’ve set the day - Thursday June 1st, we will be honoring Miss V for her years of service to our school. It will be in lower garden after school, it will be a potluck and anyone who can volunteer or bring food or drinks can contact Lisa Ward at Lisa@languagemagazine.com
MASQUERADE AUCTION - Friday, April 28, 2017 @The Topanga Mermaid
