I could tell that our volunteers enjoyed their Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast this morning – what was not to like? Once we coaxed the parents and teachers out of the lounge, we had time to recognize our Science Fair participants and honorees. Of course, with fifth grade still on Catalina Island we were missing a few students (as of this writing they are on the boat headed for home), but we heard about some amazing projects, and many students were recognized. Thanks to Debra Shier Grether and Greg Grether for making the presentations this morning, and for serving as Science Fair judges along with Rena Benor, Richard Brody, Bridget Gardner, Kent Hill and Alisa Land Hill. Most of all, thanks to the many Topanga students who shared their projects with us at the Science Fair.
Have you visited the Lost and Found lately? Better hurry – the clothes rack is nearly overflowing, and very soon we’ll be donating it all to make room for more lost clothes. If you’re missing a jacket or sweater – visit the Lost and Found today!
Pizza Sales Continue! (A Message from Heather Lerner)
The 5th grade would like to Thank You for your support this year!! They left this week for Catalina but still need to finish up some fundraising.
Pizza sales will continue for the last two weeks.
See you next week!!
A Message from TETA (Topanga Elementary Theatre Arts)
We would like to invite parents interested in participating in the school musical production next year. The performances will be in spring 2018. If you are interested in a key role such as producer, director, choreographer, stage manager, set designer, lighting, sound, technical etc. please email email@example.com and let us know how you can help, with your name, phone and email. This is an amazing experience for kids and parents alike. Please bring your talents and support our children.

Summer Reading at the Topanga Library
Starting in June, students are invited to participate in this year’s Summer Reading and Discovery Program at the Topanga Library. This year's theme is “Reading by Design! / ¡Diseñado a leer!" and children, teens, and adults may sign up for our reading game at the library to earn fun prizes and free books. Weekly activities will encourage children to read, as well as tinker, make up stories, and explore cultures from around the world. Check out our lineup for all ages on the flyers attached (Children's Summer Discovery Program, Teen Summer Challenge) and contact Meredith Sires, Children's and Teen Librarian, with more questions at 310 455-3480 or email@example.com
Enjoy the three day weekend,
Mr. Steve Gediman, Principal
