Today I conducted our second volunteer training for the new school year. Both trainings were well attended, and we’ll have another one in two weeks. If you can’t make it to any of the regularly scheduled trainings, see me and I will try to put a group together for another date and time.
The Leadership Council is the governing body of Topanga Elementary as outlined in our charter. Our first meeting of the new school year will be held on Tuesday, September 13th at 1:45 pm in Room 8. We will be welcoming our new parent representatives, reviewing old business, and setting the agenda for the new school year. The public is always welcome to come and observe as well as sign up to make a comment. If you have the time and inclination, please join us on Tuesday.
Challenge your friends. See how many laps you can do! (A Message from TEP)
It’s back! That’s right - our 3rd annual Coyote Pledge Run to support our P.E program. On Thursday, September 15th plan to run for fun, run to stay healthy, and run to support P.E at Topanga Elementary!
Pledge sheets were sent home in backpacks the end of August. We are asking each student to get as many pledges as possible to support our P.E. program. The sheets must come back by Thursday, September 15th so each teacher can bring their classes’ pledge sheets to the race.
Each class will run about 10 minutes, accompanied by music and cheering! Each lap earns a popsicle stick. At the end of the race, we will tally up sticks and record the number on the pledge sheets. Pledge money should be collected and turned in to the teachers by September 23rd.
Let’s all support our children’s physical fitness. We need parents to help hand out sticks, cheer the students on and tally up points for pledge sheets. 100% of pledges go to support our children. Thank you!

Frozen Treat pass sales will be ending after next week! The deal will continue until Friday, September 16th, and then frozen treats will be full price ($2) throughout the year.
Last Call to Sign Up for STAR Nova Enrichment Classes!
The enrichment classes at our very own STAR Program began this week. We are offering a "last call" for anyone who might want to add a class to their child's schedule.
A great opportunity for the 2nd - 5th grade kids in Beyond The Bell to get a little enrichment--with no additional driving/carpooling required! (Kids will be released to Coach Derek after their STAR class. The STAR Room is on the upper yard.)
A pro-rated fee is available, for missing the first week.
Your child would begin next week (9/12-16)
