Today we all had a chance to catch our collective breath after a very busy week. Thanks to our Leadership Council parents, Art Trek docents, Coyote Run volunteers and Science Committee members who came together this week on behalf of our students. Your efforts are most appreciated!
Coastal Clean Up Day at Topanga State Beach
This Saturday morning, our students have an opportunity to take part in the state’s (or maybe the world’s) largest annual volunteer event. California Coastal Cleanup Day takes place on the third Saturday of each September along more than 2,000 miles of coast and inland shoreline. Rich Thomas is the site captain for Topanga State Beach, and he was very happy to hear that our school would try to get some volunteers together to pitch in and clean our own Topanga Beach.
I’ll be there with my family and Ms. Benor (our science teacher). Mr. Thomas told me he has plenty of gloves and other equipment, but kids under the age of 18 have to have a signed waiver in order to participate. We have the waivers in the office, or you can get one at the beach tomorrow, or you can go online and print one at https://healthebay.org/event/coastal-cleanup-day-2017. This link also has other interesting information about this event. If you can make it on Saturday, we’d love to see you there.
Coyote Run Challenge! (A Message from TEP)
Now is the time to contact all of the people who pledged. Smile as you tell them how many laps you did! You should all be very proud of yourselves. This year was one of the best Coyote Runs ever!
We have a combined school pledge of 16K to smile about. Thank you all for supporting out P.E programs. And a big thank you to all of the parents who came out yesterday to help make this a very successful event for all of our kids. Healthy kids and happy kids win the race!
See You at the Beach,
Mr. Steve Gediman, Principal
