Movie Night – Saturday, October 15th
This Saturday (tomorrow!) Topanga Elementary is having another Movie Night! The film is Hotel Transylvania II, and just like our last movie night it will be projected on the big screen in the auditorium. It’s floor seating – so bring blankets or floor pillows, and there will be food (popcorn, hot dogs and grilled cheese and snacks) and drinks for sale – with 100% of all money collected going to TEP. I’ll be there with my son Eric to help out – but we can use more volunteers. Interested? Then click on this link to sign up:
P-22 Day & Urban Wildlife Week is Coming to Topanga!
On Wednesday October 19th from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, please join us as we celebrate the mountain lion known as P-22. National Wildlife Federation Director Beth Pratt-Bergstrom and others will retrace the trek of P-22 from here in the Santa Monica Mountains to his current home in Griffith Park. Join in the fun and excitement – and help commemorate our school being certified as an official Schoolyard Habitat. There will be guest speakers, exhibits, and you can buy a shirt by clicking here right now:
On Thursday, October 20th, Beth Pratt-Bergstrom and others will be speaking briefly to our students in the auditorium at 9:00 am. If parents are interested, they may also attend on Thursday morning. Please sign in through the office, since this is during school hours.
Boo Grams Are Coming!
Get out the list of those you want to scare! We are going to start taking your orders for scary, spooky Halloween creepy crawlies for your friends and teachers. Your special Boo Grams will be sent creeping to those you chose on Friday, October 28th. Please put in your request for boo grams at the Spirit Booth on campus. Let those people who really freak you out know you are thinking of them! (insert crazy laugh).
The Halloween Carnival . . .
Save the date and start planning your costumes for Topanga Elementary School's Halloween Carnival, this year being held again on the grounds of the Topanga Community Center. Class sponsored carnival games, face painting, gourmet foods, dance party and live music! It's a community event not to be missed! All are welcome!! Saturday October 22nd 3:30 to 8:30 pm.
A Message from Topanga Elementary Theatre Arts
Calling all parents with a talent for theatre:
We are looking for director(s) and producer(s) for the upcoming Topanga Elementary Theatre Arts production. Performances will be in Spring of 2017. If you are interested in volunteering as either director, assisting directors, or producer, please email Jill Williams at email@example.com. This is a demanding volunteer position but an extremely fulfilling one, particularly if your child(ren) want to be a part of the musical. Please support our program and speak up if you can help in any capacity. Thank you.
Save the Date
For our awesome Book Fair Kick off and Pajamarama event- open to grandparents, relatives, aunts/uncles, neighbors, caregivers and KIDS on Friday 11/4, 5 - 8 pm. TEP will be there with kid-friendly food for purchase (all proceeds benefit Topanga Elementary Programs) so you can join in all the fun--and still get them fed & in bed at a reasonable hour! Stay tuned for more details as we get closer. And if you're the type who likes to sign up for volunteer opportunities early, click HERE.
Have a Great Weekend,
Mr. Steve Gediman, Principal
