Thank you parent and family members for putting on a fabulous Halloween Carnival at the TCC on Saturday. I brought my son in the afternoon to enjoy the festivities, and we had a blast visiting the booths, meeting friends and enjoying the music. It was obvious that a lot of effort went into this traditional Topanga event, and I know our families enjoyed themselves.
Tomorrow I’ll be trick-or-treating with my son (he’s still not too old, and I never outgrew it). He knows he has to be supervised by an adult, and this morning I reminded our students of that and other safety rules parents and principals usually share: never go to houses that look dark or unoccupied, carry flashlights and reflectors (or reflective tape) when out walking at night, and never eat any candy or other treat without having a parent look at it first. Adults also have a tendency to stay out late and may not be driving safely tomorrow night – so be extra careful whenever you are near a street.

A Message from STAR
Good afternoon parents,
As you all may know, school is closed the week of Thanksgiving, from November 23-27.
This year STAR here at Topanga will be offering Thanksgiving Camp Monday the 23rd, Tuesday the 24th, and Wednesday the 25th!!!!!
The hours would be from 7 or 8 am (depending on the times needed from parents) - 6pm. Parents have the option of bringing their child for one day only or two, or the three days. The cost is $30 a day.
I was wondering if any of you parents would be interested in this opportunity for your children. If you know of other parents who would be interested please spread the word!!
Children DO NOT have to be enrolled in the STAR program to attend. Any child who attends Topanga Elementary may sign up. If you also know of parents who have children who do not attend Topanga Elementary and would like to attend Thanksgiving camp they may also sign up too!
If you would be interested please let me know!!!! I need at least 10 children to sign up for the camp to be a go.
Thank you all!!!
Director, Topanga Star
