It was a short but productive week, and most classrooms got to go up to the trail and try out the new and improved amphitheater. We are certainly looking forward now to Wednesday, when we can show off our brand new space.
Trashy Tuesday is this Tuesday April 4 at 1:45. Meet in the Quad, under our Data Report sign. All participants get entered into the drawing to win TRASH BUCKS at the Spirit Shack!
The Science Fair is coming (in May). So you can begin thinking about your project over the spring break, flyers were sent home today giving information about our 3rd annual science fair. Next week we will have some exciting demonstrations as part of the Friday morning assembly – you won’t want to miss it!

Spellcheck Donations Due by Next Wednesday, April 5th
Just a friendly reminder that the spellcheck donations are due by next Wednesday, April 5th (but the earlier the better). We need the donations in so we can calculate which classes will win the class parties and other awards. It is not too late to donate if you haven't already, and thank you to those who have already turned in their donations.
Below is the list of the awards we will be handing out on April 7th:
Retirement and Miss V
Lisa Ward is in charge of celebrating Ms. V's career here at Topanga Elementary. She is our longest serving aide, and most of our children have had contact with her in the classroom. She will be sorely missed.
Lisa has a collection envelope in the front office where you can leave a donation. She is also collecting well wishes for Ms. V in a book she is passing around. Please have your gift to Ms. V here by May 10th as Lisa will be putting together a bit of a retirement party for the last week of May.
MASQUERADE AUCTION: Friday, April 28, 2017 @The Topanga Mermaid.
TICKETS and DONATIONS: http://tep.schoolauction.net/masquerade/homepages/show
If you've paid $1,000 toward the Giving Fund for one child to date, you get one free ticket to the auction. If you've paid $2,000 or more for two children to date, you get two free tickets. When you go to buy your tickets, make sure to select the correct type of ticket. Note that some tickets are "couple" tickets, which means you only need to buy one ticket for two people who want to share a bid number at the auction. Early bird tickets will be available until April 3rd, and prices will increase slightly after that.
DRESS and FOOD: Dress to party - with your best mask! Dinner and dessert will be served. Drinks will be available for purchase.
PARKING: Limited valet parking and no self-parking - PLEASE Uber, Lyft and definitely carpool!
QUESTIONS: Please contact Lara at email@example.com. Can't wait to party with you!
Have a great three day weekend,
Mr. Steve Gediman, Principal
