Thank you to all the parent volunteers (there were a lot) who helped make Monday’s Track and Field Day a success. Big thanks to Michael Heard who put a lot of time and effort into making it even more organized this year than ever before. The kids had a great time – it was a good way to kick off our final week of school.
Congratulations to our 5th Grade class on a terrific culmination ceremony! The speeches were great, and they handled the songs with aplomb. We wish them all the best as their adventure continues in middle school... but I know they will all carry Topanga Elementary in their hearts, no matter where they go.
As you can see from the dates listed above, some of us will still be in the office for the next couple of weeks if you have questions or concerns. I won’t be sending out the Friday Focus on a regular basis during the summer, but I’ll try to keep everyone informed of important news and updates.
Community Council - an invitation from Shelley Butler, Andrea Shreeman and Summer Scott Sexton
Community Council continues this month in the Topanga Library Meeting Room on Tuesday, June 19th. Tea and Arrival 5:30pm - Council begins promptly at 6pm. Join us as we pass the talking piece to listen, and be heard. Adults 17 and up are welcome. This is not a school sponsored event. Please direct your questions to TopangaCommunityCouncil@gmail.com
We would like to wish Margaret Morrow our heartfelt congratulations on her retirement. Thank you for your years of service to Topanga Elementary Charter.
As a reminder, VAPA/Topanga Elementary Theater Arts is still accepting proposals for the production of the 2019 Spring Musical.
If you are considering submitting a bid to run the program, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by June 15th, 2018 to declare your intention and receive guidelines for your proposal.
Summer Oak Watering
Our baby oak trees can’t go on summer vacation – they have roots. Since they can’t fetch the water they need themselves, they need our help. Our students have been helping Ms. Benor water the trees every week, but with summer coming, we need volunteers to keep them alive during the hot summer.
When we have information on how you can sign up to help, I will be sending it out to our families.
Have a restful, happy summer break!
Mr. Steve Gediman, Principal
